About Us
Returning from Center for Inquiry’s Women in Secularism conference, we perceived a need for a local group supporting women in the secular and humanist community of NYC. Safe spaces coupled with open house discussions are invaluable to a comfortable and inclusive environment.
Beth Everett – Chair and Co-founder
Beth is a co-founder and 2014 Chair of Reasonable New York. She is a graduate of the Humanist Institute and is particularly interested in the integration of Humanism and Feminism.
Syd LeRoy – Co-founder
Syd is a former executive director of Center for Inquiry—New York City and has been involved in secular activism since 2007. Syd is passionate about social justice, feminism, queer rights, and free expression and is proud to apply their passion and creativity to support the movement while creating a diverse and inclusive local community.
