Join Our Volunteer Program
Join us in providing life-saving services to women and children in need! Volunteers need no prior experience. Fluency in an Asian language is extremely helpful, but not required. Requirements for joining NYAWC’s Volunteer Program are as follows:
For minors (younger than 18 years), agreement forms signed by a parent or legal guardian.
Full participation in all sessions of volunteer orientation and training.
Adherence to NYAWC policies and procedures pertaining to the Volunteer Program.

The American Italian Cancer Foundation’s (AICF) Mobile No-Cost Breast Cancer Screening Program serves economically disadvantaged and medically underserved women in New York City. AICF’s Mobile Care Clinic travels to neighborhoods throughout the five boroughs to provide mammograms, clinical breast exams, instruction in breast self exam, and educational information to women who do not make annual screenings for breast cancer a priority.
AICF is looking for volunteers to work with its Mobile, No-Cost Breast Cancer Screening Program. AICF is currently looking for Outreach & Screening Volunteers. This position requires a 3 month commitment. The volunteers will be responsible for distributing brochures, recruiting, intakes and making phone calls

Arab-American Family Support Center (AAFSC)
Arab-American Family Support Center (AAFSC) provides comprehensive social services for Arab-American immigrant families throughout New York City. Established in 1994, AAFSC has locations in Downtown Brooklyn and Long Island City. It offers ESOL and literacy workshops, citizenship classes, health care consulting, legal support, and other services to help clients adjust to a new culture and navigate American laws. AAFSC empowers recent immigrants to acclimate to the world around them and become active participants in their communities. Dates: June 2, 16th and 23rd:

Baby Buggy:
Baby Buggy is a non-profit organization located in midtown Manhattan dedicated to collecting and redistributing baby gear, clothing and essentials to families in need. Its sizeable and deeply committed volunteer base helps ready these goods for donation to over 70 social service sites across the city each month. Baby Buggy works with New York Cares to fill volunteer positions at our New York City warehouse Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from 6-8pm.
